Common Technical Issues

Android Phone



  • Send SMS "SET" to 20999 (All SMS and settings received are free of charge)
  • You will receive a series of SMS configurations from Celcom
  • Simply follow the instructions and save/install all settings

* Not applicable for any smartphones, e.g BlackBerry/Android/iPhone/Windows Mobile

  • You and the receiving party would need to be in a 3G coverage area using a 3G SIM and 3G mobile phone.
  • From your phone, select 3G network ONLY.

Check your MMS file size – For non-smartphones users, it is advisable to send MMS with file sizes of 100KB or less.

* Some smartphones require data connection to be ON to send or receive MMS.

Most China-made or China-based Mobile Phones (CBMP) are not supported by the Celcom OTA service. Alternatively, you can visit the nearest phone dealer to get your phone configured.


  • Check your prepaid balance and validity (if you're prepaid user)
  • Ensure that the SMS Centre Number is +60193900000
  • Check your SMS inbox. It may be full & you may need to delete some of the messages
  • Insert your SIM Card in another phone and try to send an SMS
